Progress indicator:
The value of: mgnt2PackageExtractionInProgress
Can be consulted to monitor the progress of the procedure. It is “on” during
extraction and returns to “off” on completion of the operation.
After this operation, the SNMP agent is updated, however it is necessary to
reboot in order for the system to start using this new version.
Reset. See; Resets in Software Management Section.
After reset the value:
mgnt2ExtractedPack
Associated with the new package is set to “one” indicating that this package is
in use.
In the event of an incorrect completion of this phase or a problem with the new
package refer to Fall Back 3 for reverse procedure. (Fall Back Procedures)
The FLASH can contain up to four packages at any one time. Only one of these
packages will be actually in use (as indicated by the value:
mgnt2ExtractedPack).In case of a problem with the new package it is advisable
to keep the former package in the FLASH during an upgrade, as a safety
measure.
Erase of unwanted packages:
Set to one the object: mgnt2DeletePackageFromFlash
Associated with the package to be erased.
If the package that you intend to erase from the FLASH is in use, i.e.:
mgnt2ExtractedPack = "two", this operation will have no effect. Erasure of a
package in use in prohibited.

Craft terminal Update on MGNT
A user may update the on-board SNMP agent from the manager. To achieve this, you
will need:
An SNMP V2C browser. (For reading and updating values in the MIB)
A tftp client.
The SNMP agent update procedure is carried out in three phases:
1. Remote loading of package via tftp into the MS430502M chassis MGNT
2. Transferring to the MGNT FLASH memory agent partition
3. Installation in the MGNT FLASH memory agent partition
