The MICROSENS multimode /
single mode media converter
offers a protocol transparent
bidirectional connection of
multimode to single mode
fiber at datarates ot up to
1.25 Gbit/s.
With these converters it is
possible to connect
communication equipment
like switches, routers, bridges
and PBXs over long distance
single mode fiber in LAN,
MAN and WAN areas.
Due to the given protocol
transparency the use of the
converter is not limited to one
application. It is possible to
transmit different protocols
like Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre
Channel and ATM OC-12 with
the same converter.
If the maximum bandwith of
Gigabit is not used, distances
even longer than 100 km are
possible.
In this way it is possible to
transmit different applications
in metro networks, backbones
and leased lines without
additional refreshing or
amplifying of the signal.
